Viking troubleshooting tips that should be done regularly and why.
-
Keep your condensor coils clean.
-
Condensor coils are responsible in disapating heat from the refrigerator as the refrigerant passes through them. When condensor coils get dirty, they are unable to work and disapate heat efficiently. The refrigerator won't maintain a proper temperature.
-
If your Viking refrigerator won't cool properly, first check to see if your coils are clean and free from debris.
-
If they are dirty, disconnect from the power supply and clean them.

Viking refrigerator is warm?
-
The thermistor maybe defective. The thermistor monitors the refrigerator temperature and initiates the regulations of other refrigerator components. If the thermistor isn't working properly, the compressor and fan may not run when it should.
-
You can test the thermistor with a multimeter to determine if it has continuity.
-
If it doesn't have continuity, it needs to be replaced.

Viking freezer fan motor isn't running?
-
Evaporator Fan distributes cold air to keep the refrigerator cool. If the refrigerator section is too warm, you may have a faulty evaporator fan. The evaporator fan brings the air over the evaporator coils. Then circulates the cooled air into the refrigerator and freezer. The evaporator fan not working correctly prevents cold air from circulating. Resulting the refrigerator not mainting proper temperature.
-
After disconecting the power supply, try manually turning the evaporator fan blade, if the blade does not turn freely or if you noticed it's too noisy, you'ld be wise to replace evaporator fan motor.

Viking temperature control thermostat issues?
-
The temperature control thermostat may be responsible for finding your Viking refrigerator warm. The temperature control thermostat is responsible for running the compressor, evaporator fan motor and the condensor fan motor. If the thermostat is not working properly, the refrigerator will not maintain proper temperature.
-
One way to check the thermostat is to rotate the dial from the lowest setting to the highest setting and see if you hear a click. If you don’t hear the thermostat click, the next step is to use a multimeter to determine if the thermostat has continuity at all settings. If the thermostat is faulty at any setting, you’ll need to replace the thermostat.

Viking stove clicking but not lighting
-
When your Viking range, cooktop or rangetop burners stop lighting, then the first thing to check is the igniter. Over time, they can become clogged up and unable to make contact spark.
-
1st: remove your grate, burner drip pan and burner cap.
-
2nd: Grab a brass or stainless steal small brush, carefully clean igniter and all burner holes. You can also take a small pic, saftety pin or toothpick and gently clean out holes throughout each of your burners. Put everything together and test burners. If everything works, then great
-
-
If your Viking range, cooktop or rantop burners won't click at all or light up, then it may be time for a professional.
-
You may need a new spark module, igniter or valve. These are generally best done by a professional.
-
-
Now by simply keeping your burners clean from build up, corrosion or rust; you can keep your expensive Viking Appliance investment, running smoothly for a very long time with no problems.
-
Another reason your Viking burners aren't working may be because they got wet. When something boils over on the stove and drips underneath the drip pan area, it will wet the igniter and will click and not light up. Another way this could happen is by cleaning it and spraying it with cleaning solution or too much water.
-
All you need to do for this issue, is try to dry up as much as you can and give time to finish drying on its own. If it doesn't lite up after a day or two, then give a call to a Viking Professional.
